Located in Milford, Millsboro, Seaford, and Smyrna, the Counseling Centers provide a wide array of services to children and adults including individual and family therapy, medication management, and custody evaluations. Clients are either self-referrals or referrals from physicians and social service agencies. Licensed Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors of Mental Health, Psychiatrists, and Nurse Practitioners specialize in depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and life span issues such as divorce and step family dynamics. The Counseling Center also works with the Milford School District to provide prevention and therapy services to their students. A therapist is stationed on-site at the schools during school operating hours. The therapists provide assistance to school personnel and become part of the school personnel team in crisis situations, i.e., helping with students who are having suicidal/homicidal thoughts, intervening with students who are fighting, as well as providing ongoing therapy.
